The nominal size is a dimensionless value that determines the size of the separator and its relevant performance.

It is determined based on the nature and quantity of the wastewater to be treated. For the calculation, the following has to be taken into account:
Q_s: is the maximum flow rate of wastewater in l/s/s
f_d: is the density of the grease/oils to be separated
f_t: is the temperature of the wastewater
f_r: is the impedient factor for the influence of cleansing and rinsing agents

Determined in accordance with formula:
NS = Q_s x f_d x f_t x f_r

the peak wastewater flow measured in liters/sec

OR

the type of commercial kitchen or meat processing establishment

OR

the selection of the establishments that discharge wastewater into the separator
